The Protected Class Nondiscrimination Policy (“Nondiscrimination Policy”) prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of one or more protected classes. Protected classes include race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, veteran status, marital status, political affiliation, and political philosophy. The Nondiscrimination Policy also prohibits retaliation and other related violations.

The Sexual Misconduct, Intimate Partner Violence, and Stalking Policy (“Sexual Misconduct Policy”) prohibits all forms of sexual misconduct specifically defined by Title IX and conduct that falls outside of Title IX. Prohibited sexual misconduct includes sexual assault (rape, fondling, statutory rape, and incest), sexual exploitation, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, hostile environment, and quid pro quo sexual harassment. The Sexual Misconduct Policy also prohibits retaliation and other related violations.

The Conflict of Interest in Cases of Amorous Relationships Policy ("Amorous Relationships Policy") establishes that an amorous relationship between two individuals constitutes a conflict of interest when one of the individuals has direct evaluative authority over the other, and requires that the direct evaluative authority be eliminated.

CU System Administrative Policy Statement (APS) and CU Denver | CU Anschutz Lactation Space Policies

In March of 2022, the Office of Policy and Efficiency (OPE) announced the Regent approval of a new policy titled, the CU System Administrative Policy Statement (APS 3005)-Lactation Spaces . This new policy requires the development and implementation of campus lactation policies on all four CU campuses. Visit CU Connections to read more about the lactation space announcement .

Specifically for CU Denver | CU Anschutz, there is a Lactation Space Policy (Policy 3061) , as well as additional University guidelines the OE administers to support pregnant and parenting students.

Please review each policy to learn more about the University’s endeavors to provide time, space, and reasonable adjustments to the work or education programs to support pregnant and parenting students and employees.

When a student, employee, or third party discloses a pregnancy or related condition to any CU Denver or CU Anschutz employee, that employee is required to provide them with the Title IX Coordinator’s contact information and inform them that the Title IX Coordinator can coordinate specific actions to ensure their equal access to the University’s education programs or activities.
