Inclusive Policies

IMSports

IM Gender Policy

CU Denver does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, and veteran status or military service. Retaliation is prohibited against anyone who makes a complaint regarding these protected categories. Intramural Sports at CU Denver are all considered “Open”, meaning that participants can sign up for any sport regardless of identity.

Attire Policy

Patrons are encouraged to wear the attire that suits their workout experience and aligns with the following guidelines. The Wellness & Recreation Services staff reserve the right to determine the acceptability of all exercise attire.

Clothing must meet public decency standards.

Clothing with offensive language, designs, or pictures is not acceptable. Participants may be asked to turn offensive clothing inside out.

Shorts/pants must be worn for all activities in the LRS-SWC. Shorts must be long enough to cover the buttocks and groin when the participant exercises or moves.

Participants must wear a closed-toe, non-marking rubber-soled athletic shoe while participating in any programs and services with the Aquatics area and study spaces being an exception.

Spouse/Membership Policy

sanitation

Menstrual Products

staff_training

Staff Trainings

CU Denver Wellness and Recreation Services make inclusivity a priority. We utilize various training such as Mental Health First Aid, Diversity Equity and Inclusion Certificate, and an ongoing focus during staff meetings. Even with this level of training, it is difficult to ensure all student staff and patrons are fully aware of our policies. We strive to offer a welcoming and inclusive environment for the CU Denver community.
