Congratulations ​​on being so close to graduating! Follow these steps to be sure you're all set to graduate:

Meet With Your Advisor

Make an appointment with your assigned advisor in your school or college's Advising Center to verify graduation requirements and to make sure you'll meet them by the end of the semester.

Confirm Transfer Credits

Did you transfer to CU Denver, but haven't transferred over your classes? We have priority processing your college transcript if you took any courses outside of CU Denver. Submit your official transcript to the Office of the Registrar and we will process your transcript and add credits if applicable within one business day.

Commencement

Commencement honors the achievement of one's academic goals and the beginning of the next vocational commitment. CU Denver ceremonies occur twice a year in December and May. Summer graduates are invited to participate in the fall ceremony. Participation in commencement is permitted only after a student has completed all of their degree requirements and has applied to graduate. If you plan to participate in the commencement ceremony, you'll need to register for this event separately on the commencement website.

Diploma & Certificates

We'll mail your complimentary paper diploma and/or certificate approximately eight weeks after the end of the semester in which you complete your degree requirements. If you didn't establish a separate diploma address when you applied to graduate, your diploma will be mailed to your home address. The post office will not forward your diploma if your address changes. You'll receive a notification email once diplomas have been mailed. if you don't receive your diploma within two months after receiving that email, contact the Registrar’s Office. Note: Your diploma will only be mailed if you've satisfied all your financial obligations at the time diplomas are ordered. Please contact the Office of the Registrar when your financial hold is resolved for your diploma to be mailed.

Bring your official transcript to the Office of the Registrar, Student Commons Building, 5th floor. When you check in at the front desk,let them know that you're a graduating student. We'll get your transcript processed and credits added within one business day.

You will be officially certified to graduate once a final audit of your record has been completed within approximately six weeks after the end of the semester. You'll receive a notification email once diplomas have been mailed. if you don't receive your diploma within two months after receiving that email, contact the Registrar.

Once you've applied for graduation, details about items like transcripts, diplomas, and commencement will be emailed to you at your university email address.
