Complete the Intake Form

If you are interested in using the Adapt to Impact loan library of adaptive toys, devices and materials or accessing professional development and instructional videos, complete the Intake Form. After submitting the form, we will contact you by email and work with you to determine which resources will best meet the needs of your program and the children you serve.

Complete the Training

The "Introduction to Universal Design" course is available at no cost on the Colorado Department of Early Childhood’s Professional Development Information System.  This course will introduce you to concepts you can implement right away to make your program more inclusive. Participants must take the training before they are eligible to borrow from the Adapt to Impact Loan Library.  Most participants complete this course in approximately 1.5 - 2.0 hours.
3

Submit a Library Request

Once the "Introduction to Universal Design" course has been completed, licensed childcare programs become eligible to use the statewide library of adaptive toys, devices, materials and resources. The Adapt to Impact program works in partnership with the Colorado Library Consortium to deliver requested items to a local public library convenient for you. Each item can be checked out of the library for up to 6 weeks.

Continue the Learning

Complete a series of 5 topic-specific trainings also available through PDIS to further your capacity to support children with disabilities and unlock access to more areas of the library related to each topic.

(Courses are almost ready, and links will be available in PDIS soon).

The 5 trainings are:

Communication & Early Literacy

Behavior & Cognition

Gross Motor

Fine Motor

Vision & Hearing

You can expect each topic training to take approximately 1.0 - 1.5 hours to complete.
