A CU Denver Research and
Creative Work Grand Challenge

The Goal

The ARIAD team aims to cultivate a powerful collaborative network of academic experts, community stakeholders, and local, national, and international industry advisors and partners to address the grand challenge of aging and aging into disability facing our world today. Funding and research support is provided by CU Denver in order to lay the foundation for building CU Denver’s reputation as a leader in research and creative work.

Dr. Clevenger is a Professor in Civil Engineering at CU Denver. Her research focuses on the development, application, and assessment of metrics related to sustainability and occupant well-being in buildings and infrastructure projects. She is also working collaboratively with CIDE to learn about and explore the needs of individuals who are aging and aging into disability and how infrastructure projects can be better designed and operated to support these individuals. In particular, she is interested in how smart infrastructure may be used to benefit those living with disability. Dr. Clevenger brings expertise in inclusive building design, construction, and operation to the ARIAD project. She will leverage her interdisciplinary background and strong research network across the College of Architecture and Planning, Business School, and the Anschutz Medical Campus to help identify and support new initiatives related to advancing research and innovation for aging and disability
