About the Testing Center
The Testing Center is located in the Disability Resources & Services (DRS) office and serves students with testing accommodations. The center provides a limited distraction space for students registered with DRS to take their tests/quizzes since the testing rooms are separated from the main section of the suite to help limit noise.
Testing Center Rooms
The Testing Center has two different types of rooms. The room a student may use will depend on their approved accommodations by their Coordinator.
- Testing Center (Distraction Reduced Room)
- This room can seat up to 11 students at a time.
- Each student is separated by dividers on each side of the desk to provide privacy.
- Noise cancelling headphones are available upon request.
- Individual Rooms
- The Testing Center has 12 individual rooms.
- Each room is provided to one student at a time.
- All rooms are equipped with a desk, white board, white noise machine, and desk lamp.
- Some rooms have adjustable desks, computers and CCTVs. These rooms with accessible equipment can be provided upon request.
- Half of the individual rooms have a large window for natural lighting. The other half are interior rooms with no windows.
Testing Center Staff
The Testing Center staff is comprised of testing assistants (TA's), testing proctors and the Testing Accommodation Coordinator & Admin. TA's are in the office on a daily basis to assist students with scheduling exams, answer emails, prepare exams, and to provide any other tasks necessary for the Testing Center.
Testing proctors are available during testing hours. The proctors administer the scheduled exams while viewing all exam rooms using the Avigilon security camera system.
The Testing Accommodation Coordinator & Admin oversees the TA's and Proctors, coordinates the daily processes of the Testing Center, and ensures that the testing processes within Accommodate are updated.
