The Ombuds Office is a safe, confidential, and nonbiased resources that members of the University of Colorado-Denver can approach to discuss, voice, and clarify any university-related concerns. We are a neutral third-party resource that is available to hear individual complaints and help sort out and identify options for resolving those concerns.
The Ombuds Office is well-trained in listening, facilitating, recommending, mediating, and coaching. Each individual on our team is a member of the International Ombudsman Association and are Certified Organizational Ombudsman Practitioners.
We even offer trainings and seminars for groups and departments to help learn communication skills, conflict management, and effective team building.
In the Ombuds Office, we believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We believe that everyone should feel safe and comfortable in their workspace, living space, and learning space. We feel that building and maintaining relationships enhances experiences at work, in the classroom, and in everyday life. We believe that each individual's passion should lead what they do and how they do it, whether it be at work, in the classroom, or in everyday life.
We believe that conflict is inevitable, whether personal or professional. That being said, we also believe that our office can help people engage effectively and positively in order to improve relationships and results.
Our very own Teresa Ralicki speaks to the important role Ombuds Offices play in helping with issues of #sexualmisconduct and being a resource for #silencebreakers, leadership, and the accused.
