Engagement on-campus with the LGBTQ+ community

As an urban commuter campus with three different institutions, Auraria can sometimes feel a bit diffuse. However, there are a number of ways faculty can join and build community on the downtown campus.

  • Get “in the know” by joining on-campus email lists, such as the Women and Gender Center and the LGBTQ Student Center.
  • Get involved by joining on-campus committees and initiatives, such as the Faculty Assembly committees for LGBTQ+ and Women's Issues, or similar committees at the Faculty Council.
  • Take a Safe Zone training class and increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ allies on campus.
  • Attend the Fall Symposium on inclusion.
  • Propose a project to enhance diversity and inclusion on campus. Support for projects exist through various grants and awards, including:

  • Support of off-campus events, partly in an effort to raise the visibility of our inclusive campus community; and\
  • Assuring in various ways that faculty, staff, students and programs are well represented in campus policies and procedures relative to the purview of the committee.
