Eligibility

Enrolled CU Denver students are eligible for a free initial intake and up to 10 individual sessions max. per calendar year.   

Services 

We are now offering the following services via telehealth and in-person:

  • Intakes and Individual Counseling

  • Couples and Family therapy 

All available to CU Denver students at no additional charge.

How to get started?

  1. Call 303-315-7270 to schedule your appointment. 

  2. Counseling begins with an Initial Intake. You will receive an email with online forms to complete prior to your appointment -for both in person and telehealth appointments-. Complete the intake forms prior to your first visit. 

  3. Attend your intake appointment. This 50-minute information gathering session helps us get to know you. Together we'll find the best plan for you. 

  4. After the intake, you will be given a list of referrals that best suits your need, or you will be assigned to one of our clinicians. You'll receive an email to schedule your first session. 

  5. Begin sessions. We use a flexible, brief therapy model. Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes, and you have a total of 10 session per calendar year.  

Pricing

Fee-paying students receive counseling sessions and other services at no cost. 

Remote Services 

Due to licensing and jurisdiction, we can only provide services to students and clients residing in the state of Colorado at the time-of-service delivery. If you are out of state, please contact our office. We will work with you to try and connect you with services in the state in which you are currently located. 

 

 

Eligibility

The CU Denver Student and Community Counseling Center provides counseling services to community members and Denver Public Schools (DPS) students and their families at a nominal fee for up to 10 sessions

Counseling sessions are led by practicum students in the graduate program in the CU Denver School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) and are supervised by licensed counseling professionals.

Pricing

Community Client payments are based on income or affiliation. Our sliding scale and ranges from $10 - $50 a session.

Due to our low-cost model, we do not accept any insurance. We are unable to provide therapy services to Medicaid and Medicare recipients at this time. 

Fees are collected at the beginning of the session. Payments are made through our website with a credit card.
