Reminder: Skillsoft Training
You must take the one-time SkillSoft training “COVID-19 Return to Campus - CU Denver” before returning to campus for the first time. To access the training, you will need to log into the CU Denver portal using your university credentials. Once you have finished the training, take a screenshot of the certificate of completion on your mobile device. You may be asked to show this at a health check-in station.

We ask that you complete the one-time Skillsoft training before coming to campus to reduce time in check-in lines.

Reminder: Daily Health Attestation
Every morning before coming to campus, you should take your own temperature and then complete a daily health attestation. You will receive a confirmation approval email, which you should be prepared to show at a health check-in station.

We ask that you complete the daily health attestation before coming to campus and allow a minimum of 30 minutes to check in at a designated health check-in station once you arrive on campus. Those who pass the health check-in will be issued a color-coded wrist band allowing them to be on campus for that day only.

On-Campus COVID-19 Testing
If you are symptomatic or you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, you can receive free testing at the Auraria Health Center. Contact them at 303.615.9999.

For non-symptomatic individuals, we are partnering with the Gary Community Investment Company/COVIDCheck Colorado to offer surveillance testing. Students living in Lynx Crossing Residence Hall will be tested at no cost. We will also have $10 self-pay tests for faculty, staff, and students. More information to come.

Building Access
Building hours will vary by building depending on the hours of course activity occurring in the building. Buildings with no course activity will be on holiday mode, or badge access only. Check the Safe Return site for building hours prior to coming to campus.

The Wellness Center is opening in phases. In phase one, services—including the fitness floors, gym, and Lynx Food Pantry—are open Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Learn more about the Wellness Center’s phased opening.

Creating a Culture of Safety on Campus
The entire campus community plays a critical role in building and maintaining our safety culture. A training session held on Friday, Aug. 7 was recorded and is available for viewing at this link. The training orients individuals to the online safety resources, provided guidance on building a safety culture, and provided guidance on critical conversations about safety.

Building and Room Protocols
Safety protocols are in place for building entry, elevator and stairwell use, hallways, restrooms, common areas, classrooms, and labs to allow for social distancing. Signage with directions and reminders will be posted across campus. Below are a few of the protocol highlights, including information on guest access to campus.

Campus guests should be minimized and will need to arrange access to campus buildings before coming to campus. Guests should review our safety training and will be required to go through the health check-in process, including completing the daily health attestation. For more information on campus guest access, visit the building and room protocols page and scroll down.

Each building will have one entrance and one exit, which will be clearly identified with signage, and to enter you must have your campus ID and daily wristband clearly visible.

Hand sanitizer will be provided in common areas within the building, prioritizing high traffic and high touch areas such as entrances and exits, elevator lobbies, and restrooms.

Cleaning Protocols
Custodial services for CU Denver occupied buildings will ensure that all CU Denver owned and shared buildings receive regular cleaning and disinfecting. Facilities Management will provide disinfecting products for units in classrooms, computer labs, and offices, but units will be responsible for using and ordering them.

For Students

Student Course Assistants
We are in the process of hiring 61 students to serve as Student Course Assistants who will help support 157 course sections across all schools and colleges. Technical trainings for both the student course assistants and faculty members are underway this week.

Find a Student Study Space on Campus
This fall there will be approximately 420 work spaces available for students on campus, including 69 centralized computer stations with drop-in and reservable options through the EMS scheduling system, 56 centralized landing zones without computers, and 233 school/college computer seats. Students will also be able to settle into open public spaces, with safe distancing in place, at the atrium of the North Classroom Building and the Auraria Library.

For Faculty/Staff

Faculty Training on New Logitech Systems
The Office of Information Technology created user guides and video demonstrations (listed under Classroom Technology in the Faculty Guide ) to support faculty in learning the new Logitech systems that have been installed in many classrooms to help facilitate the ability to Zoom students into classes. IT experts offered drop-in sessions on Aug. 12 and Aug. 13 to provide hands-on experience using the equipment.

Centralized Webpage for Faculty
The Teaching and Learning Implementation Team created a guide for faculty that centralizes information and resources for fall. The guide brings together in a single location learning resources, information for returning to campus, technology support, managing compliance with safety protocols, information for students, and more. View the guide.
