Karen Sobel has directed the Center for Faculty Development & Advancement (CFDA) at CU Denver since May 2020. She is also a Professor and Teaching & Learning Librarian at the Auraria Library. She holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership for Education al Equity from CU Denver; a Master of Science in Library Science and a Master of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the Pennsylvania State University.
Karen’s special interests in faculty development focus on building community to support faculty throughout their professional lifecycle. She works extensively in creating mentoring opportunities and groups where faculty members of all career stages & faculty ranks may support each other and gather to learn.
