About the Class

Part 1


The first section of this class is for all agency staff to increase their knowledge and understanding of the agency emergency preparedness plan and to learn their roles and responsibilities during an emergency response.

Length: 2 hours

Audience: All agency staff

Objectives

  • Discuss Situational Awareness
  • Discuss Emergency Communication
  • Discuss what should go in an Emergency Kit for staff
  • Create a Family Care Plan
  • Discuss maintaining a personal vehicle
  • Understand required training
  • Understand how to participate in exercises (drills)
  • Discuss agency response expectations

Part 2

The second section of this class is for all member facing staff to learn how to provide emergency preparedness training to members. Tools will be provided to participants to have on-hand to teach.

Length: 2 hours.

Audience: Member facing staff

Objectives

  • What to teach members
  • Relevant information from agency plans, policies and procedures for emergency response 
  • Situational awareness
  • Emergency kit Personal Support Network Seasonal topics
  • Each participant will teach back to allow them to be comfortable with providing information to members
