Message from the Director | Winter 2025
New Milestones and Our Exciting Name Change
Mar 15, 2025Dear CIDE Community,
We are always growing, evolving, and striving for innovation. Reflecting on the last few months, I am excited to share two significant updates in this Winter 2025 edition of our newsletter.
First, we extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Becky Breaux, a dedicated clinician at our Assistive Technology Clinic, on attaining her PhD! Dr. Breaux’s resilience and commitment to excellence inspire us all. Her expertise continues to make a profound impact on the individuals and families we serve and we are excited to see her research and teaching agendas unfold.
Second, I am excited to announce that our name has changed to The Center for Innovative Design and Engineering (CIDE). While our person-centered mission remains at our core, this new name better reflects our interdisciplinary approach and dedication to innovation. With over 70 million Americans living with disabilities, our work in education, research, development, and technology transfer is more vital than ever. This new identity aligns with our vision to enhance lives through cutting-edge assistive, medical, and mainstream technologies.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
Warm regards,
Dr. Cathy Bodine
Director, Center for Innovative Design and Engineering (CIDE)
