Freedom of expression, as guaranteed under the First Amendment, and academic freedom, as defined by the University of Colorado Laws of the Regents, while distinctly separate concepts, are central to CU Denver’s academic mission and underlie our community values of respect, civility and inclusion. Please read about Freedom of Expression at CU Denver.
Official university-assigned email accounts are the only ones the university uses for its email communications with CU Denver students. Faculty and administration will use your official CU Denver address when corresponding with you by email. We don’t send university messages to other email accounts like Gmail or Yahoo.
Students are responsible for reading emails received from CU Denver.
This policy accomplishes two things.
University email communications include a variety of important information.
CU Denver-assigned student e-mail addresses are easy to recognize — firstname.lastname@ucdenver.edu.
Students must follow the activation procedure to activate their account and obtain their exact address.
