Alana Jones is the Associate Vice Chancellor for the Office of International Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus. She has been passionate about global awareness and engagement since 1995, when she first set foot on the continent of Antarctica. Before joining the university in 2012, Alana managed international research and learning endeavors for eight years in the United States Antarctic Program and then for ten years at Earthwatch Institute.

Her career has taken her to seven continents and enabled her to work with various stakeholders, including students, scientists, local governments, in-country organizations, military organizations, and corporate partners. Her work focuses on organizational leadership and management, international risk management, project management, international compliance, and international operations.
