Swipe Out Hunger is a national nonprofit committed to eliminating food insecurity for students on college campuses across the country. CU Denver has partnered with Swipe Out Hunger and Lynx Dining to offer FREE meal swipes to students needing food assistance. Students may self-nominate themselves to request campus meal swipes from our Meal Swipe Bank, even if they do not live in the residence halls or have an active meal plan.
1. Submit the online meal request form
2. Meet with our staff to learn more about your situation and determine how many meal swipes you can receive per self-nomination. We can also help you find additional on-campus and off-campus food assistance resources.
3. Your meal swipes will be loaded onto your student ID card. Use them at either of our dining halls just like any other student!
Note: You must be enrolled as a current CU Denver student to self-nominate. Each student can request meal swipes up to two times per semester.
CU Denver students have access to free food and hygiene products at the CU Denver food pantry located in the Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center on the 3rd level. Students are allocated 10 points each week to use on food items from the Food Pantry.
Loving Lynx is an emergency funding resource available to CU Denver students dealing with unanticipated events including accidents, medical or dental emergencies, natural disasters, or a need for temporary housing.
Single Stop at CU Denver connects students to the local community and governmental resources (e.g. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid) that can help them overcome socioeconomic barriers and assist them in their educational journey.
