Access to the Network

‚Äč‚ÄčThis service request provides wired computer access to the University of Colorado Denver’s wired data network. This request is to access the Internet and internal server and application resources. Typically this service is for personal computers (desktops/laptops), but is also for servers that are in customer owned/managed spaces where the equipment is connected to the Telecommunications Network Infrastructure (TNI) owned and managed resources. Learn how to connect to the wireless network or VPN remote access.


CMS Access

Request access to edit a SharePoint 2010(public web) or SharePoint 2013(intranet) website.



Distribution Lists and Listservs

The CU Denver OIT department maintains a bulk mailing system commonly referred to as a List Server or “Listserv.” List Server is recommended for all bulk mailings with 500 or more unique users. Users may subscribe to and unsubscribe from the lists as needed. Users or departments can maintain their own custom lists. The List Server also has mail-merge capabilities.


Directory Listing

File Servers/Storage

Faculty and staff are provided with 4GB of basic storage, typically via a home or departmental shared drive. Additional storage is available for a fee. In addition, 1TB of cloud storage is provided through OneDrive for Business. Learn more about saving and sharing files with OneDrive.


Remote Desktop or Thin Client

This service will provide hosted desktop and application computing systems for paid subscribers at the University. We can deliver desktops and applications through a single platform to Physical, Virtual and BYOD (bring your own device) systems allowing for a rich, adaptive user experience. 


Room Scheduling (EMS)

Technology Support Services utilizes and manages the EMS room and resource scheduling system. This system is used to schedule classrooms, multipurpose meeting rooms, computer teaching labs, small group rooms, lecture halls, auditoria, and conference rooms on the CU Denver | CU Anschutz Medical Campus.


Single Sign-On

OIT provides authentication services to university units for departmental or campus-wide applications that require the authentication of users based on their affiliation with the University. Applications may be internal or third-party.


Service Accounts

This service is provided to create a service account for a generic Active Directory account (IIS, e-mail, etc).


Sponsored User Accounts

Sponsored user accounts are often requested by departments for consultants, visiting doctors, preceptors, or outside vendors that need access to CU Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus electronic resources.


Timely Terminations

There is a standard process that is in place for typical terminations from the university. Timely terminations are specific to an involuntary termination or any circumstance where the unit believes there is a risk to university data. OIT will evaluate the request and then obtain approval from Legal and HR before disabling access.  Please note that employees who also hold an active role as a student have specific rights to maintain access to their student account.


University AdWords Account

Run a Google AdWords campaign using the University AdWords account. The University is not centrally responsible for campaign payment.


University Systems Access

OIT manages access to email, Active Directory, VPN and certain library entitlements as well as the information that is sent to badging and parking. Access to HCM, Finance, Peoplesoft and CU-SIS is managed by University Information Systems at the CU System Office.

User Data Access Requests

All non-emergency requests to access to another user’s data must be approved by HR and Legal before access is granted. OIT has created a process to manage these requests which can be initiated by the supervisor of the person in question, or by the department administratorIf the approval is granted by HR and Legal, the IT Security and Compliance Team will coordinate the data transfer with the appropriate team(s) in OIT and the requesting department.
