Compromised Email Accounts

If you believe your account has been compromised, the OIT Security and Compliance team is available to assist. There will be an investigation into the compromised account and a process for mitigating future risk.

Report an Issue:

  1. Stop all actions. Do not turn off the computer.
  2. Contact the OIT service desk (303)724-4357 or 4-HELP and report the incident.

Distribution Lists and Listservs

The CU Denver OIT department maintains a bulk mailing system commonly referred to as a List Server or “Listserv.” List Server is recommended for all bulk mailings with 500 or more unique users. Users may subscribe to and unsubscribe from the lists as needed. Users or departments can maintain their own custom lists. The List Server also has mail-merge capabilities.


Email Boxes

A Shared Mailbox is a mailbox that multiple users can access to read and send email messages. Shared mailboxes can provide a common calendar, allowing multiple users to schedule and view vacation time, etc. Set up or manage existing email boxes. 


Phishing Emails

Phishing is a psychological attack used by cyber criminals to trick you into giving up information or taking an action. Phishing originally described email attacks that would steal your online username and password. However, the term has evolved and now refers to almost any message-based attack. These attacks begin with a cyber criminal sending a message pretending to be from someone of something you know, such as a friend, your bank, your company or a well-known store.


Room Scheduling (EMS)

Technology Support Services utilizes and manages the EMS room and resource scheduling system. This system is used to schedule classrooms, multipurpose meeting rooms, computer teaching labs, small group rooms, lecture halls, auditoria and conference rooms on the CU Denver | CU Anschutz Medical Campus.


Setup Shared Rooms or Resources

This request is made when a room needs to be added to the scheduling system (EMS). A room mailbox is created and assigned to a physical location, such as a conference room, an auditorium, or a training room. Once created, users can easily reserve rooms by including the room mailboxes in meeting requests.
