Douglas Sicker

Vice Chancellor of Technology, Strategy and Innovation and Chief Technology Officer
In addition to his role as VC and CTO, Doug serves as a professor of Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical Engineering. He also served as CU Denver's Chief Computing Officer and led the Interdisciplinary Computing Task Force. Doug holds a BS, MS and Ph.D. from University of Pittsburgh. He previously served as the Lord Endowed Professor and Chair in the College of Engineering and School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and as the DBC Endowed Professor of Computer Science at CU Boulder and in various roles in the federal government, including as CTO of the Federal Communications Commission and the NTIA (Commerce). He also served as the Director of Network Architecture at Level 3 Communications. His research and teaching interests include wireless systems, cybersecurity, and network policy. Doug has seen the integral role that the university plays in the technology sector and is building on that momentum to create more opportunities for students and ensure that CU Denver is optimizing, investing in, and growing technology resources to meet the needs of our student, staff and faculty.

Matthew McCarville

Assistant Vice Chancellor of IT Operations and Chief Information Officer

Matt joined OIT in 2022 and brings a wealth of experience in IT, data management, analytics, and business engineering process standards. Prior to joining CU Denver, he served as the president and CEO of Optimize Consulting Group, a boutique IT and data analytics consulting firm based in Florida as well as Vice President of the Education market for MTX Consulting Group and Chief Strategy Officer of their AI subsidiary mavQ AI. Before that, he served as the State of Florida’s chief data officer for more than 28 state colleges, 12 state universities, and 34 state agencies, as well as the University of Florida’s director of enterprise data management, which encompassed areas of research computing, data lake/warehouse/engineering, master data management, data trustee/stewardship, analytics and reporting, and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions. Matt received his doctorate of business administration in AI and business intelligence analytics, as well as his MBA in strategy and IT, MS in business intelligence and analytics, MSc in agile and waterfall project management, and BSBA in management from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Matt believes in being a servant leader that is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and work alongside team members to help them grow.

Corey Parham

Associate Director of Service Delivery and Operations
Corey Parham is a seasoned IT professional specializing in audiovisual technology and IT leadership. With a proven track record of success, he has spearheaded numerous high-profile projects and managed cross-functional teams, delivering exceptional results. Corey's expertise extends to operation logistics and cost savings, where his keen eye for optimization has resulted in streamlined processes and significant cost reductions. In addition to his IT leadership roles, Corey is a passionate advocate for leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning outcomes. With his technical expertise and understanding of operation logistics, he integrates innovative audiovisual tools into educational settings to create dynamic and immersive learning experiences. Corey's approach goes beyond implementing technology; he aligns technology solutions with educational objectives and provides training and support to empower educators in utilizing audiovisual tools effectively. Through his leadership, educational institutions have seen improved learning outcomes, increased student engagement, and enhanced collaboration. Corey's commitment to transforming traditional classrooms into innovative learning environments through technology makes him a valuable asset for organizations seeking to enhance pedagogy and drive educational excellence.

Heather Vigeveno

Assistant Director of CRM and Academic Technology
Heather joined the management team at CU in 2021, building the program and team responsible for Slate, Pardo, Salesforce, and Canvas applications. She brings almost two decades of experience with CRM systems and has worked in higher education since 2002 when she joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Heather earned her bachelor's degree from Dickinson College and her master's in management as well as a graduate certificate in strategic management both from the Harvard University Extension School. In her free time, Heather enjoys running and hiking, and practicing her language skills in Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

Christopher Derry

Associate Director of Planning, Analysis and Change
Christopher Derry is an accomplished manager with a proven track record of successful project outcomes and extensive experience in portfolio management. Currently serving as the Associate Director of OIT Planning, Analysis, and Change at the University of Colorado Denver, Chris excels in overseeing technology projects and business analysis initiatives that align with the university's mission. With expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and stakeholder engagement, he ensures optimal results within budgetary constraints and timelines. Before joining the University of Colorado Denver, Chris gained valuable experience in project management, demonstrating his ability to lead high-profile system implementations and upgrades as the owner and president of Pikes Peak Consulting Group, Inc. Chris holds several certifications in project management, including Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification and Certified Scrum Master® designation, reflecting his commitment to excellence in the field. With extensive software knowledge, he is proficient in various project management tools, further enhancing his ability to drive success in every project he undertakes. Through his leadership and passion for delivering results, Chris continues to make significant contributions to the field of project management, leaving a lasting impact on organizations and projects alike.
