ECONOMIC IMPACT REPORTS


The Office of Academic Program Evaluation and Reporting compiles economic impact reports for the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus and for each of the two campuses.

 


The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus is an economic engine supporting the state of Colorado with thousands of jobs, millions of dollars in pay and billions of dollars in spending.


 

By the Numbers: Economic Contributions  
  • An impact of $3.3 billion to the Colorado economy, including university expenses of payroll and operations plus indirect earnings and expenses. For every $1 in direct expense by the university, there is up to an additional $1.33 in purchased goods and services in Colorado.
  • An impact of nearly 30,000 jobs in Colorado, including over 12,000 university faculty, residents, staff, and student workers, and the jobs created in secondary markets.  For every job at the university, there is up to an additional 1.4 jobs supported in Colorado.
  • An impact of $76 million in sales and income tax from university direct and indirect earnings and spending. Compared with its state appropriation to the university of $86 million, Colorado received nearly 90 percent of its appropriation back through tax revenue
