RTD CollegePass Update

May 14, 2020 @ 9:42 a.m.

CU Denver and its partners on the Auraria Campus have agreed to suspend the RTD CollegePass from May 18 through the end of the summer semester. This means that none of the Auraria institutions will assess an RTD fee for the summer semester.

Students will not be able to use their campus-issued RTD pass during this period. However, RTD is still operating under a service reduction plan at no charge to passengers

Additionally, RTD has agreed to reimburse the portion of the RTD fee that covered April 5 to the end of the spring semester (during which RTD suspended fare collection). Students who were registered for spring classes on campus will receive that partial reimbursement for this amount. Because RTD will be determining this amount, we do not know when students will receive it; we expect it could be some time. The reimbursement will be via direct deposit or check depending on the information in the student’s account, while students with an outstanding balance will see a balance reduction for the same amount.

If you are using public transit and face financial hardship from fares once RTD resumes charging fares, please contact the Loving Lynx Fund for assistance.

In April, Auraria Campus students voted to keep the RTD CollegePass for the 2020-21 academic year that begins in the fall. Thus, the Auraria institutions will be assessing this fee in the fall 2020 semester.
