To keep our community safe and supported this fall, we will be providing weekly updates on COVID-19-related news, resources, announcements, and more. You will also find these updates in our weekly CU Denver News e-newsletter.
We continue to see roughly 1,100 people complete health check-ins each day of the week. As a reminder, every morning before coming to campus you should take your own temperature and then complete a daily health attestation.
The COVID-19 dashboard launched Aug. 21.The dashboard includes the number of asymptomatic tests administered
by CU Denver, the number of COVID-19 cases with campus contact and the five-day average, and utilization of quarantine space.
The dashboard also links to Denver Public Health’s “Caution Metrics” for the Denver region. Dashboard metrics are based on public health best practices, data availability, and the unique nature of the CU Denver campus.
We want to hear your feedback on how the semester is progressing. We will be sending an online survey to students mid-September and one to faculty and staff shortly after.
Over the next few weeks, faculty will be choosing their course formats for the spring semester. We will be using the same course formats that were used in the fall, including in-person, remote, hybrid, and online.
The Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) has created a course format guide to help faculty and students better understand each of these formats. The guide defines each course format and includes examples of what instruction might look like for each course type. Faculty who want to brainstorm about the course format that would help them to best achieve their learning outcomes can stop by CETL Open Office Hours.
As part of regular testing in Lynx Crossing Residence Hall, just under 400 students and staff have been tested for COVID-19 for the second time. Other steps we are taking to protect residents in Lynx Crossing include one person per bedroom and no more
than two residents per bathroom. Quarantine units are available for students who test positive, safe distancing requirements are in effect, and spaces are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
There will be opportunities for more asymptomatic COVID-19 testing in the near future. Communications will go out to the campus community in September.
CU Denver, CCD, MSU Denver, and AHEC mutually agreed to suspend the RTD CollegePass program through the fall 2020 semester after exhaustive discussions with RTD. Students will not be assessed the CollegePass fee through Dec. 31, 2020, and may not use their campus-issued RTD pass during the program suspension.
Eligible students may apply for discounted fares, including the income-based RTD LIVE pass, on the RTD website or by calling 303-299-2667 for more information.
From Aug. 17 through Sept. 4, 111 student study spaces on campus were reserved.
As a reminder, there are approximately 420 work spaces available for students on campus. If you haven’t already, make sure to request an EMS account as
soon as possible to start reserving spaces.
Visit OIT’s Student Labs and Printing webpage for hours and locations.
Students who need more than three hours, which is the maximum time allowed at the reservable spaces, may use open public spaces, with safe distancing in place, at the atrium of the North Classroom Building and the Auraria Library.
